Based respectively in Tokyo and Hiroshima, Japanese experimental electronic duo Takeshi F. and Ryuta K. have been collaborating as Overdose Kunst since 2001, and self-describe their creative output as being "post-sampling kinetic non-hierarchical non-linear non-equilibrium fourth world muziq." While the above self-description fails to give much of an insight into the sorts of sonic explorations awaiting the listener on this five track CDR EP Non-Form Material Machine through New Zealand Creative Commons-based netlabel Postmoderncore, a quick listen through this EP's 33 minute running length reveals the most evident touchstones here to be musique concrete as well as the slightly more predictable Japanoise leanings. Opening track 'I Should Want To Be Alan Lomax In New Domain' certainly suggests turbulence ahead, kicking things off with a dark wander into ambient-noise territory that pits relentless repetitive scraping guitar textures against an ominous backdrop of what sounds like overlaid crowd and traffic noise, with the odd recognisable fragments such as a mournful horn or snatch of intelligible conversation rising out of the din like momentary spectres. While the sense of oppressive noise appears overpowering at first however, continued listening evokes a sensation curiously similar to your eyes adjusting to a darkened room, with more and more melodic and vocal details revealing themselves slowly in the mix, leading to a strange sense of internal logic as exotic sounding sampled wind instruments and unearthly-sounding vocal chants bring things to their conclusion.

After this somewhat ferocious opening, 'Medium's Message' manages to throw a complete curveball into proceedings by offering up a laidback two minute wander through stiff midtempo electro handclaps and burnished blues guitar chords that almost suggests Steely Dan going head-to-head with Scott Herren, before ten minute long epic 'Deemployed' takes things back out into menacing ambience, almost resembling the death throes of some malfunctioning video game system as it sends rippling bursts of retro laser gun sounds scattering over a distant backdrop of brooding bass drones. '464' meanwhile offers an oasis away from the more ominous emotional territory that dominates much of this EP, sending delicate guitar chords cycling against an almost hypnotic backdrop of manipulated vocal chatter and opaque-sounding woodwinds, in what proves to be something of a false idyll as psyche-rock yells and furious metal fretwork begin to infiltrate proceedings in a manner that calls to mind Acid Mothers Temple's unhinged third-eye squeegeeing. Finally, 'Requia For Ethnic Cleansing' brings this EP to a close with one of its more sonically-unsettling offerings, and manages to turn a fairly simple female vocal performance into a serious exercise in listener disorientation, simply by reversing critical enunciations and phasing the backing instrumentation. Like much of this intriguing EP, it manages to combine unexpected moments of rare beauty in equal doses with an underlying sense of dread, marking Overdose Kunst well apart from the usual generic mass of 'dark ambient' and noise-based practitioners.

Postmoderncore is a great CD-R label that is more than generous with its samples and whole-album downloads, and is a perfect place to begin to taste some music you might not have sought out otherwise. The emphasis is on ambient drone, and no one on the label is more worthy of tasting than Japan's Overdoes Kunst. "Non-Form Material Machine" explores the deep drone with hypnotic minimalism ("i should want to be alan lomax in new domain") and with a mix of acoustic instruments and vocals ("464"; "requia for ethnic cleansing"). "medium's message" and "de-employed," both gorgeous and guitar-driven, are the most accessible for newbies, but are big payoffs for seasoned fans as well. Overall, this is a quiet, beautiful soundscape with just enough edge to keep one from getting comfortable. It plays like the soundtrack to a David Lynch movie about meditation.

It is not strange that i died when i got hard car clash ,
Actually many people thougt my death.
i got head 9 stitches but body is almost safe.

the dystopian underworld of Chiba City
Henry Dorsett Case is a low-level hustler in the dystopian underworld of Chiba City, Japan. Once a talented computer hacker, Case was caught stealing from his employer. As punishment for his theft, Case's central nervous system was damaged with a mycotoxin, leaving him unable to use his brain-computer interface to access the global computer network in cyberspace. Unemployable, addicted to drugs, and suicidal, Case desperately searches the Chiba "black clinics" for a miracle cure. Case is saved by Molly Millions, an augmented "street samurai" and mercenary for a shadowy ex-military officer named Armitage, who offers to cure Case in exchange for his services as a hacker. Case jumps at the chance to regain his job as a "console cowboy," but neither Case nor Molly know what Armitage is really planning. Case's nervous system is repaired using new technology that Armitage offers the clinic as payment. Unbeknownst to Case, Armitage pays the clinic to implant mycotoxin sacs into his blood vessels - the same poison which initially crippled Case. Armitage promises Case that if he completes his work in time, the sacs will be removed, otherwise they will burst. Armitage also arranges to replace Case's pancreas and modify his liver with tissue grafts, leaving Case incapable of metabolizing cocaine or amphetamines and apparently ending his drug addiction.

Case and Molly develop a close personal relationship and begin looking into Armitage's background. Meanwhile, Armitage assigns them their first job: they must steal the "Dixie Flatline", a ROM module that contains the saved consciousness of legendary cyber-cowboy McCoy Pauley, one of Case's mentors. Pauley's hacking expertise is needed by Armitage. Pauley's construct is stored in the corporate headquarters of media conglomerate Sense/Net. An anarchist group named the "Panther Moderns" are hired to create a simulated terrorist attack on Sense/Net. The diversion allows Molly to penetrate the building and steal Dixie's chip. Case and Molly continue to investigate Armitage, discovering his former identity of Colonel Willis Corto. Corto was the only survivor of operation Screaming Fist, a microlight-mounted commando force augmented with cyber-hacking capabilities. Screaming Fist attacked a Soviet military base, however in actuality, the raid was engineered by high-ranking military commanders to study the effect of EMP weapons against unprepared troops. Corto's men were slaughtered, but he and a few survivors commandeered a Soviet military helicopter and escaped over the heavily guarded Finnish border. Everyone was killed except Corto, who was seriously wounded by Finnish defence forces upon landing. In Istanbul, the team recruits Peter Riviera, an artist, thief, and drug addict who is able to project detailed holographic illusions with the aid of sophisticated cybernetic implants. Although Riviera is a sociopath, Armitage coerces him into joining the team. The trail leads Case and Molly to a powerful artificial intelligence named Wintermute, created by the plutocratic Tessier-Ashpool family. The clan alternates control of the family wealth and spends their time in cryogenic preservation inside Villa Straylight, a labyrinthine mansion in the Freeside space station.

Wintermute's identity is finally revealed - it is one-half of a planned super-AI entity, although its exact purpose is unknown. The Turing Law Code governing AIs bans the construction of such entities; to get around this, it had to be built as two separate AIs. Wintermute was programmed by the Tessier-Ashpool dynasty with a need to merge with its other half - Neuromancer. Unable to achieve this merge on its own, Wintermute recruited Armitage and his team to help complete the goal. Case is tasked with entering cyberspace to pierce the Turing-imposed software barriers using a Chinese military grade icebreaker which is called "Kuang", a virus-like piece of software. At the same time, Riviera is tasked with getting the password to the Turing lock from Lady 3Jane Marie-France Tessier-Ashpool, an unfrozen daughter clone and leader of Tessier-Ashpool SA. Wintermute believes Riviera will pose an irresistible temptation to her, and that she will give him the password. The password must be spoken into an ornate computer terminal located in the Tessier-Ashpool home in Villa Straylight, and entered simultaneously as Case pierces the software barriers in cyberspace - otherwise the Turing locks will remain intact. Armitage's team attracts the attention of the Turing Police, agents of the Turing Registry who prevent AI's from exceeding their built-in limitations; The Turing Registry hunts down hackers who interfere with AIs. As Molly and Riviera gain entrance to Villa Straylight, three Turing Registry officers arrest Case and take him into custody; Wintermute manipulates the orbital casino's security and maintenance systems and kills the officers, allowing Case to escape. Armitage begins to question the mission, and starts reverting to the Corto personality as he relives Screaming Fist. It is revealed that in the past, Wintermute had originally contacted Corto through a bedside computer during his convalescence, eventually convincing Corto that he was Armitage. Wintermute used him to persuade Case and Molly to help him merge with his twin AI, Neuromancer. Finally, Armitage becomes Corto again, but his newfound personality is short-lived and he is killed by Wintermute.
Neuromancer is a 1984 novel by William Gibson, notable for being the most famous early cyberpunk novel and winner of the so-called science-fiction "triple crown"―the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award.[1] It was Gibson's first novel and the beginning of the Sprawl trilogy. The novel tells the story of a washed-up computer hacker hired by a mysterious employer to work on the ultimate hack. Gibson explores artificial intelligence, virtual reality, genetic engineering, and multinational corporations overpowering the traditional nation-state long before these ideas entered popular culture. The concept of cyberspace makes its first appearance, with Gibson inventing the word to describe "a consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions."

Во-первых, звук на 18-минутном EP японского проекта совсем не “железный и бетонный”, а скорее взятый из глитч и фолк направлений современной так называемой электронной и экспериментальной музыки. Я был тоже удивлен, хотя и ожидал кое-что странное, ведь японский дуэт Overdose Kunst по информации из пресс релиза записывает именно странную музыку, которую авторы сами называют “шизопоэзия”, весьма активно аж с 2001 года. I was also surprised, though expecting something strange, because the Japanese duo Overdose Kunst on information from a press release writes music that is strange that the authors call themselves "shizopoeziya 's been very active since 2001. Overdose Kunst - музыка с хорошими эмоциями и зарядом, совершенно без каких либо классических форм: ни песен в абсолютном понимании обывателя, ни абстрактных glitch конструкций, ни японского попа там нет. Overdose Kunst - good music with emotions and charge, totally without any classic forms: no songs in absolute understanding of an ordinary person, nor abstract designs glitch, or Japanese pop is not there. Не банальное сэмплоперемешивание, а со вкусом и в тоже время слегка грязновато отделанное чудо - полотно, “овердоза” которого действует благоприятно на лиц любой национальности. Not semploperemeshivanie trite, but with taste and at the same time slightly trimmed gryaznovato miracle - canvas, "overdoza" which acts favorably on persons of any nationality.

Звучат композиции-песни по хорошему вразъезд, туманно, пьесы приготовлены на непонятной смеси из разных языков, ни одним японским или английским, боже упаси. Songs sound-good songs on vrazezd, vaguely, plays cooked mixture to obscure from different languages, nor a Japanese or English, God forbid. Японский андеграунд показывает своё ещё одно лицо, выдернутое то ли из пост-рока, то ли фолк-глитча, то ли психофолка, рожденного, когда ночная Япония крепко спала и лишь партизаны (см. 1 трек) охраняли её призрачные границы. Japanese underground shows its another person, whether vydernutoe of post-rock, or folk-glitcha, whether psihofolka born when Japan firmly night and slept only partisans (see track 1) guarded her ghostly border.

Russian label ZHELEZOBETON, which is responsible for several great releases so far (check out Catalyst-monuments of a rubicund age, and Degeneral-After the world, both wonderful!) brings forth another release, this time by the japanese duo overdose kunst, who have several online releases behind them already. Playing what they describe as, and I quote - "Post sampling kinetic nonhierarchical nonlinear nonequilibrium forth world muziq" , Overdose kunst's (Takeshi F. And Ryuta K.) use of various samples, guitars and vocals , all manipulated, reversed or played at random gives the feeling of the dreamy and inconsistent argument they are preaching.

Does it work? Yes sir! The seemingly chaotic mixture of elements poured in by Overdose kunst is too interesting to be dismissed as random. "Was ist overdose kunst" opens with "Partizan" , is it a folk song? There are tormented vocals over an infinte loop of clean sounding guitar, almost as if this song is being played on a record player. You can later hear another female voice, and then some flutes. Everything appears and vanishes over the five minutes of "Partizan" Until the songs end and we are left with hisses similiar to those heard on the end of such vinyl.

Ono sendai is much more spacey and relaxed. The sounds of water going in and out the vibrating background, Which in turn keeps changing positions with the echoed guitar playing in the foreground. This is no meditation track, please be sure. This is more in the direction of the abstract parts of music that Ghost are into.

Any concrete sense of direction is completely lost on "Kurz-y-nuy" , being the most dreamy and structure-less (in the good way!) in the album. The vocals and the music are either reversed or sound like they are, all over enough low, yet feedbacked background static to be an interesting contrast to the quasi melodies played there "Requia for ethnic cleansing" actually reminds me, if it wasn't for the sudden low growls in the end, of old Sigur Rós songs, of all things. Like the previous track, this one is reversed as well, with backward singing that goes perfectly with the music .

The cover art and the names of the tracks (Those I understood, at least) made me expect some militant industrial act . what I found inside was much better. Very interesting and refreshing album!

僕らの音楽の定義のひとつ”ワールドミュージック”。
なぜ僕らはこれを志向するようになったのだろうか?ひとつには所有の希薄化の問題がある。
僕らの定義する”ワールドミュージックと一般的な”ワールドミュージック”というものは
別物であるかもしれないが”ワールドミュージックといわれるものの構造を僕らなりに解析すると、
主音のヒエラルキーを破壊するモーダルな構造と微分音程における特異点のあらわれである。
特に後者を僕らは逡巡する”音色”の系とみなすことで作者の
脱構築された差異的な特異点とみている。
ようするに僕らはここに漸近しようとして失敗したのだ。そしてもうひとつに象徴的な問題がある。
このレヴェルで僕らは”ワールドミュージック”をデータベースと同義にみている。

The album starts with the heavy sample mangling atmospherics of i should want to be alan lomax in new domain. We are then surprised by the song-ish guitar based piece medium's message. de-employed delivers us paranoia induced by arcade games. The at times almost pastoral 464 drifts half way between folk and electronics. requia for ethnic cleansing lulls us out with vocals in a language previously unheard, and just the slightest hint that things are actually very very wrong. An often beautiful and sometimes unsettling album.

Japanese musicians Takeshi.f and Ryuta.k have been collaborating as Overdose Kunst since 2001. They base themselves in Tokyo, Chiba and Hiroshima. They create experimental electronic and electro-accoustic music that they call "Post sampling kinetic nonhierarchical nonlinear nonequilibrium forth world muziq!". They run their own netlabel, Usyukuro.
